SW Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox and Texas Bankers Association to Partner on New Commercial Lending School

Bankers are invited to join the inaugural session of the Commercial Lending School on the Southern Methodist University campus April 27–May 2, 2025.

To help prepare bankers for current and future banking challenges, the SW Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox (SWGSB), in partnership with the Texas Bankers Association (TBA), is pleased to announce the introduction of a new Commercial Lending School.

The program will consist of three levels. Level 1 is an introduction to lending, focusing on the critical topics that new loan officers need to jump start their careers. Level 2 offers more in-depth training on specific types of underwriting and portfolio management skills. An optional Level 3 offers additional education in the areas of credit risk management and leadership skills. At the conclusion of Level 2, a certificate of completion will be awarded. Following Level 3, an additional certificate of completion will be issued that includes both credit and leadership certification. Learn more at swgsb.org/cls.
