SW Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox On-Campus Session Scored Perfect Attendance

Jeffrey R. Schmid, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City provided commencement address

The SW Graduate School of Banking (SWGSB) at SMU Cox 2024 session on the Southern Methodist University campus wrapped up June 7 with a commencement ceremony celebrating the graduation of SWGSB Class LXV at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Jeffrey R. Schmid, a graduate and former president and CEO of SWGSB and current president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, provided the address.

Despite a week of violent storms, power outages, and cancelled flights, SWGSB had 100% attendance and held its annual golf tournament at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine.

SWGSB’s 98 graduates from Arkansas, Belize, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming completed the three-year executive education program with passion and persistence. One third of the graduates this year are women. Building strong leaders, SWGSB is doing its share to decrease gender disparity in the world of banking.

Emerging leaders and experienced financial professionals—including regional presidents, commercial loan officers, branch managers, credit analysts, cashiers, mortgage lenders, consumer lenders, operations officers, and state and federal regulators—gathered for the nine-day leadership development program that propels careers in the financial services industry.

“We were pleased to have Jeffrey R. Schmid provide our commencement address. His longstanding association with SWGSB is one more reason our program is world class,” said SWGSB President and CEO William T. Chittenden, Ph.D. “From essential core elements to the latest management strategies, SWGSB provides a collaborative style of learning that empowers participants to gain mastery of leadership over three consecutive years.”

SWGSB’s next summer session is set for May 27–June 6, 2025. For more information, visit swgsb.org or call 214.768.2991.
